The starter or starting mash should be given for baby chicks for at least one month, the grower or growing mash should be given for broilers and pullets, and the laying mash for hens to increase egg production.

Swines also need a well ventilated housing. The chicks should be kept in a small area that has lighting for additional heat. The reason for this is that because the temperature regulating mechanism of chicks are not yet functional from their younger days until about fourth week of their life.

The houses of the bigger swines or the grower is more spacious considering that this is the area that they will going to grow.

Among the things to be considered in raising swines, it is also important to observe the swines if they are growing as fast as they should. If the chickens or swines are not growing normally, then they need a nutrient supplementation.

There are many food fortifiers or nutrient supplement available in the market, they contain proteins, vitamins, minerals as well as antibodies.

Crowding, overheating,chilling or frightening are among the common causes of mortality to the swines. These factors could be prevented by providing adequate floor, broader spaces as well as precautions against disturbances.

Some chickens specially the white chickens may exhibit cannibalism or picking toenails, tails as well as feathers of others. The reason for this is that the blood is readily seen from some of their body parts and once the chicken taste blood, they induced to peak the injured check more and more.
