1. Jacob Sheep

A multi-horned animal is called “polycerate” and one of the most remarkable multi-horned sheep is the Jacob Sheep. This piebald bred can weigh up to 82 kilograms. Amazingly a Jacob Sheep may have up to six horns.

Because of its unique physical appearance, it is one of the few sheep breed that is kept as pet and ornamental animal. This small but very useful animal is also used as a guard animal.

2. Manx Loaghtan

Another notable polycerate sheep breed is the Manx Loaghtan. This unique-looking sheep had originated from the Isle of Man. This short-tailed and multi-horned breed is characterized by dark brown wool.

It may have up to six horns like the Jacob Sheep and is regarded as critical. Both male and female Manx Loaghtan has horns but the male has larger ones. The meat and the wool of this sheep are highly prized.

3. Hebridean

It sounds weird but aside from having multiple horns, the small Hebridean sheep is unique for having a short and triangular tail. This breed is from Scotland, United Kingdom. It can attain a weight of up to 60 kilograms. This animal’s meat is said to be significantly less in cholesterol compared to other breeds.

4. Navajo-Churro

The Navajo-Churro is another polycerate sheep breed that is renowned for its lean meat, resistance to disease, hardiness, low maintenance reputation and adaptability to extremes of climate. It is also called Churro and American or Navajo Four-Horned Sheep.

5. Icelandic Sheep

The Icelandic Sheep is a multi-horned domestic breed of sheep. This short-tailed sheep is noted for its short legs which are free of wool. The face of the Icelandic Sheep is also free of wool. It is also noted for having multiple birth of up to sextuplets.

6. Finnish Landrace

Occasionally, some Finnish Landraces are born with multiple horns although they are best known for high incidence of multiple births of up to 9 lambs. It matures early and can be mated at 6 months of age.
